This will be the landing page for FloodCheck from now on. I am currently in the process of rewriting the entire program for more flexibility, ahead of the predicted flooding in the Red River basin.
There are currently two versions. The first is the legacy version that ONLY does the Red River at Fargo, but is set for taskbar operation. The second will be a full-screen version that has selectable rivers. Both versions require up-to-date .NET 4 Framework.
** FloodCheck 1 and 2 are available free of charge. They cannot be sold or redistributed without permission from the author (Andrew Lynch). If you are a .NET developer, and are interested in the source code, please contact me and I can provide you with the code package.
FloodCheck 1
This version is a system tray application that simply shows the river level in a popup bubble every hour. It is hard-coded to be for the Red River at Fargo. It was my first major program, and receives data directly from the National Weather Service’s RSS feeds.

FloodCheck 2
This is an expanded version of the older program. It is intended to be on a projector or other large screen and display the river level and hydrograph obtained from the NWS’s RSS feeds. It allows you to enter the 5-character river code found at the bottom left of each hydrograph. You may use this code to check other rivers. It is preprogrammed with a few sample rivers, and defaults on the Red @ Fargo.
